Mask Mouth

How healthy is that smile hidden behind your safety mask?

“It is a service to others when you wear a mask…”, shares Dr. Jonathan Frankel of Toledo, Ohio, “…but is it affecting your dental health?”

According to Dr. Frankel, those with existing tooth and gum issues may become aware of the situation while wearing a mask. Others may begin to breathe through their mouth rather than their nose causing dry mouth.

Dry mouth is associated with decay and gum disease.

Frankel does offer advice.
