More than 125 million Americans are missing one or more teeth. One solution for this problem is dental implants.
At Frankel Dentistry, we love to educate our patients about the state-of-the-art technology available at our office, including dental implants.
Each of our implant cases are evaluated on an individual basis. Therefore, in order to be properly evaluated, we suggest that you call Frankel Dentistry and schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Frankel. Additionally, at Frankel Dentistry, we have a periodontist (an expert specializing in periodontal disease and implants) on staff, allowing for you to complete the entire implant process in house. Together, Dr. Frankel and his staff are able to make your dream smile come to life.
When evaluating patients who are considering implants there are four basic characteristics that are assessed.
1.) Candidates should have good general and oral health.
2.) Candidates should have adequate bone in the jaw. This bone is needed to support the implant. If bone loss has become a problem, we may be able to perform a bone graft to help support the implant.
3.) Candidates should show healthy gum tissues that are free of periodontal disease.
4.) Candidates should be committed to taking very good care of their implant by brushing, flossing, and visiting Frankel Dentistry at least twice a year for cleanings and oral examinations.
There are some candidates that are not ideal patients for implants. These people include young people whose jaw has not stopped growing, pregnant women, heavy smokers, people who take certain medications including steroids or drugs that suppress the immune system, people who severely grind or clench their teeth, people who receive high doses of radiation of the head or neck, or people with serious heart disease.
Tooth loss does not need to be a problem for you. Please call Frankel Dentistry to see if implants are the right option for you.
